Our Food Share ministry is designed to collect donations from CTK, local businesses and the CTK Farm and deliver them to the areas of greatest local need. It’s all about pulling our resources together in partnerships that help those in need in our neighborhoods, our communities and our County.
This Summer we are looking to grow our Driver Team. Could you be available for a few hours on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday to help us deliver fresh vegetables from the farm to local food banks? We have the food and the vehicle we just need someone willing to let God use them in a fun unique way!
We also have loved partnering with Calvary Creekside Church and their Open Hands ministry that gives weekend food bags to kids in local schools who would otherwise go hungry for the weekend! Since January CTK’ers donated over 650 packages of Crackers, Applesauce, Chicken Noodle soup or granola bars. Huge thanks to all who donated!
Here’s what you can do to help right now:
Donate the item of the month at the bin in the commons
Support one of our business partners by shopping with them this season. Franz Bread, Hannegan Seafoods and Barleans have been very faithful supporters of our mission.
Also, if you are a farmer or own a local food business and would like to partner with us, we would love to get your donations to those who need it most. Or if you’d like more information or have questions, contact Faith
at ext 220 or Faithw@ctk.church.
CTK Food Share
Item of the Month
At the CTK Farm, a team of faithful volunteers manage several acres of donated farmland and greenhouses to provide fresh produce for 21 different local partnerships who serve people in Whatcom County.
Summer is a beautiful season at the Farm where we experience in a tangible way the difference between being buried and being planted as we watch seeds sprout into new life. We would love for your help in the planting, weeding or harvesting at the farm. Stay in the know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org to receive weekly updates.
The CTK Farm is located at the corner of Hemmi and Hannegan. The address is 6069 Hannegan Road. Look for the large greenhouse or brightly painted shipping container with our mural on it.
Here are some other ways you can help right now:
Join us for a farm work day (Monday & Friday mornings 9-12). For more info, email email@example.com.
Donate towards the cost of the farm equipment and seeds by choosing Blessing when you give online.
Become a Host for Pick and Picnic groups. Contact Faith Whaley for more information.
Sign up for Pick and Picnic. This could be with your small group or a group of friends that want to pick a day to serve together at the farm.
