Whatcom County Pregnancy Clinic - Bless the Staff Meals
Who are we serving?
Anyone concerned about a possible unplanned pregnancy
Who is helping connect us to their needs?
The Whatcom County Pregnancy Clinic is a nonprofit medical clinic in downtown Bellingham that offers information, pregnancy tests and related services that are free, accurate and confidential. Every woman has the right to caring, personal support in a comfortable environment when considering an unplanned pregnancy. WCPC offers information on options with the aim of helping women find hope for a positive future.
They also provide parenting programs for new moms with incentives from the Earn as you Learn Store. They host a wonderful abortion recovery group and also offer mentoring. The Relate program sends trained presenters into schools to talk about healthy relationships and sexual risk avoidance.
How are we serving?
The staff and volunteers work hard and experience heart-rending moments on a regular basis. To show them that their efforts are worth it, there is an opportunity to deliver a "blessing meal" that they can share together. They are generally all in the office on Wednesdays (and what a gift on HUMP day!) This can be a simple seasonal salad with a tasty dessert or an "ordered in" lunch from one of the many local food venders. Your small group could easily create a month of blessing if a couple people committed to each week. Plan to feed 8 people. Also treats to go with coffee are always welcome. 😊
Who do you contact?
Once your group has picked dates they’ll be bringing meals, contact Doddie Honrud at email@example.com or 360-671-9057 to let her know your group is interested and to nail down the details. Remember, encouragement goes a long way so don’t forget to thank her and the other staff you encounter for the meaningful work they do in women’s lives every day.
If you need help in the process, Wendy at CTK is available (firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-733-1337 ext 212 Please share your project with us by using the hashtag #CTKserves on social media!
