Whatcom County Pregnancy Clinic - Moms Care Package
Who are we serving?
Anyone concerned about a possible unplanned pregnancy
Who is helping connect us to their needs?
The Whatcom County Pregnancy Clinic is a nonprofit medical clinic in downtown Bellingham that offers information, pregnancy tests and related services that are free, accurate and confidential. Every woman has the right to caring, personal support in a comfortable environment when considering an unplanned pregnancy. WCPC offers information on options with the aim of helping women find hope for a positive future. They also provide parenting programs for new moms with incentives from the Earn While You Learn Shop. They host a wonderful abortion recovery group and also offer mentoring. The Relate program sends trained presenters into schools to talk about healthy relationships and sexual risk avoidance.
How are we serving?
As a group, reach into your network of friends, co-workers, neighbors to collect or make “We Care About You” items for the expecting moms who choose life and are going through the parenting program. In most cases, these moms-to-be are low income and don’t have much support. Your care packages help us send the message that they are not alone and someone sees and cares! Your gifts will become items moms can earn by completing Earn While You Learn parenting classes. Needed items include things like:
- Maternity Clothes new or gently worn – fresh, young, modern and seasonal colors
- Toiletries/ Bath Gift Sets / New Bath Towels for pregnant moms-to-be
- Homemade Microwaveable Rice Heating Pads (call Doddie for more info)
Who do you contact?
Contact Doddie Honrud Community Development Director firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-671-9057 to let her know you have items to drop off. Set up a time for at least a couple of people to drop them off and get a quick tour of the clinic!
