Lighthouse Mission - Most Needed Items
Who are we serving?
Homeless men, women, and children who come from all walks of life and each have their own story. Some have experienced abuse, addiction, crisis, mental illness, divorce, or bankruptcy that led to their current situation.
Who is helping connect us to their needs?
The Lighthouse Mission offers a hand up, not a handout, to end the cycle of homelessness and restore people through Christ. They do this by providing 9 specialized types of shelter from quickstay to extended stay, family housing, medical respite, special needs housing and more. They also offer 9 hot meals a day, Mental Health Counseling, Work and Housing Referrals, Lockers and Storage Space, as well as discipleship from a holistic perspective.
Lighthouse Mission Ministries’ programs aim to provide direction and opportunity to people who have lost their path. They believe that a person who is given hope, direction, and skills has the opportunity to return to a productive and dignified position in our community.
How are we serving?
The Mission bears the cost of food, lodging, case management, staff support, any classes their guests take and any clothing/items guests receive during their stay. As the body of Christ, we are in a great position to support this front line work of rescue and redemption. One way is to make a financial donation. Another way is to provide the items most needed for this type of ministry:
- Bath towels (new or gently used)
- High efficiency laundry detergent
- Twin-size sheet sets, pillows and warm blankets
- Toilet Paper
Who do you contact?
Call the Mission at 733-5120 to let them know your group has items to drop off. If you call ahead, you also have the option to schedule a tour of their four facilities and learn more about their ministry. While you’re there, don’t forget to thank staff for all they are doing!
If you need help in the process, Wendy at CTK is available (email@example.com or 360-733-1337 ext 212) Please share your project with us by using the hashtag #CTKserves on social media!
At CTK, we value authenticity, simplicity, empowerment, relationship, and caring about the community we live in. One key way we serve is by empowering small groups to make a difference through our local partners who address important issues for those in the hardest life circumstances. The opportunity below is a chance to tangibly demonstrate God's care, compassion, and love for those around us. As your church, we hope this makes it easy for you to put the Great Commandment to love your neighbor as yourself into action
